I have needed a new pair of NB 623's for some time now, and I have been hesitating strictly because of some of the recent negative reviews. Finally, one of my laces gave out, so I decided to suck it up and give these a try. I have to say I am impressed with the look, the fit and the comfort! Usually I dread getting a new pair of shoes because I can only wear them for 2 or 3 hours at a time until they break in. With these, I was able to put them on, go for my daily walk, and continue wearing them as long as I pleased.

I don't know the version of my old pair, but I know I have had the old pair for at least 3 years (as I bought 2 pair at the time), but one identifier of the older pair was the "623" is in an oval on the heel (white numbers on a navy background) -if this helps any aficionados do a comparison. Whatever the case, I am impressed enough to order at least one more pair to set aside for later.

My last pair were made in Italy and lasted for a couple of years -Great. Disappointed that they are now made in China. We'll see how long they last!
